Terms and conditions

The short version

The room is free and so is the site. Come, listen, meet people and be decent to them. Nobody sells from the stage. Do not copy the site or use what is on it to pass yourself off as us. If you use the site or come to an event, these terms and our privacy policy apply to you.

The events

Every event is free. A seat reserved on Partiful is a request, not a contract. The room has a limit and we may cap it, and we may change the date, the venue, the speaker or the program, or cancel an event. When that happens we tell the people who reserved as soon as we can. There is nothing to refund, so there are no refunds.

You are responsible for yourself while you are with us: your belongings, your travel, and your conduct. The venue's own rules apply inside its walls. Where alcohol is served, you must be twenty-one or older to drink it. The golf simulator is used at your own risk and as the venue instructs.

Conduct in the room

The house rules are the ones on the front page. No egos. No negativity. No sales. Nobody pitches from the stage, sponsors included. Treat everyone in the room as someone worth listening to, and do not harass, intimidate or record other guests for your own marketing without their consent.

We can ask anyone to leave, and decline future seats, without giving a reason.

Photos and recordings

We record the talks and photograph the room. By attending, you allow us to use those recordings and photographs on this site, on our social channels and on YouTube, without payment to you. Speakers keep the rights to what they say. If you would rather not appear, tell us at the door or write to us afterward through the contact page, and we will do what we can.

Speaking and sponsoring

Speaking slots and sponsorships are at our discretion and go through the contact page. A sponsor supports the room; a sponsor does not buy the stage, and a sponsor is interviewed the same way any guest is. The terms of any sponsorship are agreed separately, in writing.

What a speaker says

What a speaker says on stage is their own view and their own experience. It is not advice from us, and it is not a promise that what worked for them will work for you. Do your own homework before you act on anything you hear in the room.

The site and what is on it

The words, photographs, recordings and design of this site belong to Network of Directors or to the people who made them. Speakers own their talks, photographers own their photographs, and the sponsor and host logos belong to their companies and are shown with permission.

You may read the site, link to it, and quote short passages with a link back. You may not copy the site, scrape it, or use its photographs and recordings in your own marketing without asking us first.

Links to other sites

The site links to Partiful, YouTube, and the sites of speakers and sponsors. We do not run those sites and are not responsible for what is on them or how they handle your data.

How we measure the site

We measure how this site gets used. That includes analytics, heatmaps that show where people click and scroll, and session recordings that replay how a visitor moved through a page. Anything you type into a form is masked, so your name, email, phone number and message are never captured by a recording. By using the site you agree to this. Our privacy policy names the tool, says what it stores, how long we keep it, and how to switch it off.

No promises, and limits on liability

The site is provided as it is. We do not promise that it will always be available or free of mistakes. To the fullest extent Texas law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from the site or from an event, and our total liability to you for anything connected with them is limited to one hundred dollars. Nothing here limits any liability the law does not let us limit.

Changes

We may change these terms. When we do, the date at the top changes. If you keep using the site or keep coming to the room after that, the new terms apply.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Any dispute about them will be heard by the courts in Travis County, Texas.
